Today is Friday and is scheduled to be a shortened clinic day. It is the closest community of the three we visited this week and was also the smallest. We were planning to be done approx 2 pm and packed up and back to the hotel by 3. We might have time to go see a bit of the town we were staying in. 

We drove in our 23 seat passenger van to a new closer exchange point. There were 4 pickup trucks there. One for the suitcases and three for us. Into the truck bed we go! We drove maybe two miles on a very steep winding dirt road on the side of a very picturesque mountain. When we arrived at the top we let out a collective gasp and everyone scrambled to get their phone. It was our third and final village and it was breathtaking. 

The homes were just as primitive as the other communities but there was an area partitioned off for a community garden, a few areas fenced in for the chickens and livestock, the common areas and paths were clean, there were water collecting systems and it was beautiful. Fundinor has been working with this community for 9 months and through motivation    and hard work, the community members have improved their sanitation, their sustainable food source and water availability and treatment while preserving their culture, customs and way of life. It is a success story.
